We stayed for one night. We liked the location as it was close to the ferry terminal and there are convenience stores and restaurants nearby. The staff were really nice and helpful - they gave us an upgrade when they realised they couldn't give us a standard non-smoking room! The room and bathroom were huge, modern and clean. Everything was... more

I stayed at the Rio Hotel in Macau with my family last March 2008. At first, I was hesitant to book in Rio because the few reviews that I read here on TripAdvisor kind of made it sound like the Rio was sleazy and dingy. In the end, my Mom was the one who made the decision to book there... more

We stayed at the Rio Hotel during July and found it pretty nice. It tries extremely hard to be an european style hotel- you will see their efforts outside and in the lobby- lots of crown molding, gold, and fancy furniture- but in the end, it's still not the 5 star. Lots of the things of the hotel are nice,... more

I booked this hotel through a Chinese travel agent and was expecting this location to look more like Vegas location. I found the lobby cheap looking with their attempt at grandiosity with ugly worn furniture painted with gold & laminate tables. Service: The staff at the reception counter was friendly, however, the doorman never greeted us and the cocktail waitresses... more

Nothing special from the outside. The rooms were a nice size, very new and clean. Breakfast was included and location was close to harbour. The casino inside looked old, dull, small and very dated. The staff there was rude. They kept telling us not the sit on the arm of their sofas by the lobby, I asked why and he... more

Booked the Deluxe Twin Room, comes in 2 double beds, just nice for our family of 4. We arrived at 1030am, they gladly check us in,Fast & Hassel Free. From Airport to hotel will cost you MOP60-70. Location is okay, bus stop directly infront of hotel, many eateries nearby. Room was very clean & spacious. Loved the separate bathroom !... more

Rio Hotel is a short 15-20 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal, although you can also catch the hotel shuttle bus service upon arrival. It looks quite a new hotel, rooms are quite large, nicely appointed with a flat screen TV mounted on the wall, very large double king size bed and a bathroom with separate bathtub. Generous tolietries include... more

The size of the room was okay. There's a LCD TV (not sure what size) attached to the wall just in front of the bed. Bathroom was big, had a shower area, and bath area. It's not worth gambling at the casino as it feels so dull inside. It's better to visit the bigger ones. It's quite a walk to... more

Stayed here for 2 nights in late Sep'07 and is a very decent hotel with clean room though they are relatively small. The hotel has a casino on its own but I did not check it out as was not there to gamble. The room package I had came with breakfast which is really good. The hotel is located close... more

My first trip to Macau from HK was particular exciting as you would to any first destination. People were telling how it is like Las Vegas etc etc,. Having arrived at he harbour we were told there are allocated shuttle bus to your chosen hotel, all free of charge. Great start and good service. The ride only took about 5-10... more
