When you go to Yogyakarta, surely you expert to see lots regarding Javanese Culture. Malioboro is a startegic place. It is soooooo Yogya! Nearby Sultan palace (Kraton), batik and local craft market (go to Bringharjo, the traditional market, and get the experience of unique shopping!). Then where to stay in that strategic area? Especially when you have tight budget?

There is an alley in Malioboro street called Dagen. Go, and see all along the street you can find fine hostels in vivid neighbourhood. The best around is Peti Emas. International standard. You will never be dissatisfied to stay there.

But last October 2006, I was not lucky to get a room at Peti Emas. It was high season as Indonesians celebrated Lebaran. Then I got another hostel around I've never heard before. The name is Kristina Hotel. Well, it is a modest place to stay, if you just need a clean, safe and friendly athmosphere to stay-- coz they don't have swimming pool or stuff like that.
