Backpackers will love this place. It's simple, clean, friendly, cheap... You can choose between dormitory and private rooms. Both options are good and affordable. The lounge is set in the beautiful garden with lots of friendly travelers to talk to. They also serve food and cold drinks. Free wi-fi present! They will help you organise tours and van rentals as... I stayed there a few years ago for six weeks and then the Manager told me he needed the whole place for a group coming from Europe which was cool. Just told me to come back in a few days. Then, the manager was not around and the owner emailed me that he was fired and said I had a... More

We didn't stumble upon Banwa's information until we were already in the Philippines. Something about the website conveyed a sense of charm that stuck out amidst the many other available entries. So upon arrival in Puerto Princesa we rode straight to Banwa. And unfortunately, they were completely booked! We should have set reservations instead of taking it for granted there... More

Probably the one redeeming feature of this hostel is the common area the rest is just average I'm afraid. We booked 3 nights in their 'female' dorm room however they kept putting males in there with us, which isn't a huge issue really we just didn't expect it. Also the room was fan only and with 5 bodies in a... More

50 PHP from airport and 120 PHP to San Jose Bus Terminal. Really lovely hostel, staff are friendly and the food is great - varied menu of filipino & western food, amazing shakes & a well stocked bar. The veranda/restaurant area has a really nice feel to it, lots of heavy wooden furniture, beautiful artwork and handmade jewellery and patchwork.... More

The dorms are average, about 8 double beds but the guest house makes up for it with it's relaxed and great common space. It is comforting and you could stay there all day reading or talking to other guests. The bathrooms were clean but frequently out of toilet paper. The staff are helpful in arranging tours or answering your questions... More

Banwa pension was one of the best hostels I've stayed at. It's very popular so it's worth booking in advanced if possible, although call them as they don't respond to emails in time usually. It's 350 pesos per person and that includes a bed, sheet, pillow and a shower towel to use. The food is delicious.. Try the chicken curry,... More

This is possibly my favorite guesthouse I've found in Asia. The atmosphere is creative and relaxed- the place is covered with art and the open lounge area is very chill with music playing, books to read, Internet access, and a friendly staff. With the great food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks, and snacks) you might be tempted to hang out here... More

It cost us 50 pesos from the airport on tricycle. The atmosphere here is very relaxed. The room we booked is clean, large & the shower is hot & powerful. Can't ask for more can you! Well the happy hour, food & friendliness of the staff all add to making our stay here so brilliant we stayed twice. Both before... More
