I had done my research so having read the many complaints on trip advisor was prepared for a tiny cramped room. Also having arrived from the E&O in Penang was expecting disappointment. But not at all! Our stay of 7 nights here was a delight from beginning to end. The room was ingenious in the use of space and we... More

Hotel 1929 is close to train stations and an easy walk to restaurants in Chinatown. The rooms are quite small but they are clean and the staff friendly. More

Superior Single room on 3rd Floor. 3 night stay. Breakfast, WIFI Internet and bottled water/soft drinks in the fridge are complimentary. I am not finding the room small at all as other reviews seem to suggest. I find it very comfortable and adequate space for a person travelling on their own. The bed is slightly raised to allow suitcase to... More

We stayed at this hotel recently. The room that was allocated to us was so small that we had no place to place the luggage but to place it below the bed. There were hardly any room for the 2 of us to move around the room. To create more walking space, each time one of us need to move... More

Dear derrick69, Thank you for the feedback. We are disappointed that we didn't meet your expectations during your stay with us. Housed in a conservations shop house, space is indeed a constraint. We have however, designed the rooms to the best of our abilities, to accommodate the basic needs of a modern traveller. We understand the lack of space therefore... More

I stayed at 1929 in early December 2011 and i really enjoyed it. The location of it is definitelly one of the selling points. It is actually in the quite part of Chinatown next to excellent eateries and about 20-25 min walk from the river. The rooms are very clean and even though very small, they are well designed and... Small efficient room but very clean. Friendly Staff. Free in room Wifi. My only criticism is that the hallways are un-carpeted so you hear everything outside your room ie late night returners and early morning flight people dragging there belongs, footfalls. I am not too picky and I bring earplugs while traveling but if you are sound sensitive I would... More

The room is small, you will need to push your suitcase under the bed to give you more space. The shower is in the same frosted-glass enclosure as the toilet so things get wet. There is a sink outside the cubicle. It can get a little noisy outside due to a nightclub (it was a Friday night) but nothing some... More

We stayed here for 3 nights over the F1 weekend for a realistic price and walked to the MRT (Chinatown station) to get to the F1 track and shopping centres ~$3AUD a day. Yes the rooms are small/tiny, so if you're a large human or are a little claustrophobic this isn't your best bet, don't sook later. We loved the... More

Stayed for one night in a very tiny De luxe Room. We were lucky that our luggage was lost, if not we would have been in trouble with the space. But the staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was ok. The hotel is close to Chinatown, but for big Scandinavians there were very little to shop, so we... More

Greetings from Hotel 1929! Thank you for your kind feedback. The room sizes are indeed on the smaller scale as the hotel is housed in conservations shophouse.
