We stayed in a private room, which was well worth the extra money and even had a few cable channels for when we were feeling lazy. The whole place was very clean, funky, safe and secure with someone at the front desk at all times and a buzzer to let people in. Great position and good breakfast. Free wifi, pool... more

This is a well located hostel in Santiago; walking distance to lots of the attractions and close to a subway station. It's in good condition and clean and tidy but is more expensive than one may expect for a hostel. Compared to other hostels we stayed at in Chile and Argentina the other guests seemed younger and hence expect a... more

We stayed in a private room with bathroom for two nights. Here are the good points: - Very comfortable and nicely decorated room and modern bathroom - Very clean - Hot water, decent power shower with bath - Laundry over the road - Breakfast included - Bar, pool table - Directly opposite metro station - Walkable to centre Bad points:... more

Last May I spent three nights at the Andes Hostel. Me and my girlfriend chose a double-bed room with private bathroom. Along our stay I could notice that staying in a room like this is like staying in a good hotel as the cleaness and confort are similar. Despite our room was situated in the third floor in a non-elevator... more

The hostel is well located in Bellas Artes and you can walk to most of the tourist hotspots from it. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. However, we stayed here at the beginning of February, when it is still very hot in Santiago, there was no fan or aircon in the room. It is located next to a few... more

I stayed at the Andes Hostel for just one night during a layover from Mendoza, Argentina to Easter Island, Chile. The staff was very helpful in arranging my shuttle to the airport and even woke me when I overslept. The room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the stylings were simple and pleasing. There was plenty of storage, though... more

We are two 30-somethings that like to travel independently. This place was perfect for us as it was centrally located and right across from the Bellas Artes metro station. We liked that we could get a private room with bath attached for around $50. The staff was very friendly and a breakfast was included (simple warm ham/cheese sandwich, juice, coffee... more

We have stayed at the Andes a few times and keep coming back. What the rooms lack in flash they make up for in cleanliness. The staff are awesome people and the bathrooms are nice. Breakfast can get a bit boring (ham and cheese every day), but if you are looking for a safe bet for a relatively cheap place... more

My husband and I stayed here three nights on our way to and from Patagonia. The private room with a double bed and private bath was a good deal at $50/night -- clean, cheery, decent-sized and had cable TV. We also stayed in another private room with a bunk bed ($38/night) that was literally size of a tin can. We... more

Great place to with regards to decor and location (check out Torro Restaurant past art gallery over river on right hand side). We stayed in a double en suite room which cost 25 pounds a night - reasonable for Santiago. The dorm bathrooms looked good too - but as a couple we wanted some privacy. Breakfast was not great -... more
