We stayed overnight in Casa Higueras and loved it. The 4-5 floor hotel originated as a 1920-30's house. The house was recently renovated and turned into a boutique hotel with little expense spared. The renovation has faithfully maintained the original design inside and outside whilst accomodating the demands of 4-5 star travellers. The rooms are all unique in floor layout... more

I can't give this hotel enough praise. It is a small boutique hotel - bigger than a bed and breakfast but smaller than a large, chain hotel. It is beautifully decorated and so comfortable. Casa Higueras is a beautiful little boutique hotel located in one of the poorer neighborhoods of Valparaiso. My first comment is to avoid Valpairaso altogether. If you want to see the city, go on a day tour using either Santiago or Vina del Mar as your base of operations. Casa Higuera does have a lovely restaraunt with a beautiful terrace... more
