I stayed at this hotel in December 07 based on the many positive reviews on TA. Yes, the breakfast was very good, but beyond that I hated it. Issues/problems: Cab drivers couldn't find it, so every time I went somewhere we spent endless time driving around. Having the address did not help. Door was always locked. If you wanted to... more

In response to this solo traveler, her hates, issues and problems.. I have to start by once again stating, that an Inn is not a Sheraton or a typical hotel. It amazes me that someone could be confused when making a reservation as to the nature and style of the place you are booking a reservation on. Before I start...

You'll love this charming place and its helpful staff. Comfortable rooms with fantastic views out over the harbor. Eclectic decor assembled from salvage. Wonderful breakfast in the "penthouse" dining room. Proprietor Jorge Henderson lives here part of the time and back in Arizona part of the time, maintaining dual citizenship. He is a most accomodating fellow. In response to an... more

We stayed here pre-cruise and loved the Inn. Jeorge and his staff were the best. Breakfast was one of the best I have had at any B&B. more

My wife and I stayed in the Robinson Crusoe Inn in Valparaiso for four days in February during a two week road trip through Chile. Without a doubt this was our favorite city and favorite hotel in Chile. The Inn has some of the best views in the city. The owner and staff are charming and incredibly accommodating. The rooms... more

Six of us stayed at RCI after disembarking from a 2-week cruise. We chose this hotel because we wanted a place that was much more intimate, personal and different from the large, chain hotels. RCI is all of those things. Jorge met us on our arrival and his staff were efficient and friendly in preparing our rooms earlier than normal... more

There are no negatives and all aspects were wholly positive. The hotel was spotless and the ambience absolutely charming . To simply walk through the hotel to our room was a feast for the senses with the array of artifacts, woodwork and absolute archetectural charm. Jorge and his staff were extremely outgoing and helpful particularly in arranging transportation. The breakfast... more

We arrived at the Robinson Crusoe Inn with 2 other couples. From the moment we entered, we were treated like family. Jorge greeted us immediately and his efficient staff attended our luggage. The Inn is very architecturally unique. Each of our rooms was different and elegantly decorated with beautiful antiques. The views of Valparaiso from the top floor were absolutely... more

We have stayed in over 50 hotels around the world and this is probably the most remarkable place we have ever stayed. The building itself is well over 100 years old and the restorations and renovations have kept the charm of the old with all of the elegance of new. The staff is excellent and you cannot believe the gourmet... more

My stay at the Robinson Crusoe was during the Dakar Rally and the hotel was fully booked, which could have meant chaos, but was absolutely the opposite. First off the place is just cool and in a real part of the city, not in the overrun obvious tourist spots, but up on the hill in a hip little neighborhood complete... more

I'll keep it short but sweet. The hotel was a perfect, authentic-feeling place to stay in a beautiful city. We spent a week in the north on the beach and our stay at Robinson Crusoe was far superior. Don't expect your typical 5-star hotel but expect 5-star service and a 5-star experience. We were on our honeymoon and spent a... more
