Casa Hostal 199 in Valpariso was about the most memorable experience of our three week trip to South America. The location, view, cleanliness, and helpfulness made us feel we had seen, felt and experienced this indescribeable city. Casa Hostal 199 is the best place to stay at during your visit in Valparaiso! This cute little hostel is situated on one of the hills, overlooking the colourful city and harbour. It's easily reached by the old Funicular. Outside the entrance you’ll find a little terrace where you can have your breakfast in the morning or bring your own... more

You can have breakfast on the deck overlooking the entirety of Valparaiso and feel like you never want to leave. A really lovely place to... more
It was an overall very good experience. Your fellow guests and the hosts are delightful company. Although it lacks some amenities (no bar soap, no hanging closets, no shelves in bathroom) it is a delightful experience and we'd stay there again without reservations. It is very well located, with restaurants and markets close by. more

We chose to stay 2 nights there and one night in Santiago before our flight home and we wished we could have stayed for a month. We took a taxi from the... more
