This hostal is in a quiet neighborhood in New Quito just outside the Mariscal. It is a 5 minute walk to the trolle, a major grocery store and indoor fruit market/general market/restaurants and very safe. It has a shared kitchen with full stove/oven and refrigerator with an adjoining "living room" where people can meet, talk, etc. It is very inexpensive for Quito. The owner welcomes new people with a special treat the first evening of your stay. The owner, Luly, is a wealth of information, loves her guests and keeps very clean rooms with hot water. Many people who come here are repeat guests. Those of us who try it and stay for a few days cannot imagine staying anywhere else when in Quito. You become a member of the family where "everyone know your name" ....especially Luly who is a genuine jewel who truly cares about her guests! I can't imagine staying anywhere else when I return to Quito. more
