Overall a good hotel for the price we paid, I thought it was value for money actually. I would forget about trying to use any of the Casino facilities if I returned, they are pretty horrible, and they try to encourage you to go with free vouchers and then don't honour them. The room was nice and spacious, clean and... more

Were moved here from La Rabida which had provided us with terrible rooms. In contrast this was palatial. Checking in, internet access, bar, ATM machine with no charge were all very good. Good range of food for breakfast but as with many places, it is difficult to get a proper cup of tea. Concierge was very good at getting taxis. more

We stayed three nights in all in this hotel. The room was lovely, with fruit and chilled water to welcome us. The staff were friendly and helpful. Checking in was very swift as they realised we were tired after a long journey and they were sympathetic and helpful to our loss of luggage in transit (airline problems!) The location was... more

I guess if you are not part of a group you get the worst service. The hotel is well located, if somewhat seedy at night, clean, bed was very comfortable, breakfast is decent, however, it took us 2 hours to check in.They claimed to have a problem with our reservation, even though I contacted Kati who sent a shuttle to the airport to pick... more

We stayed on 3 occasions during our tour. 2x 2nights and one last night. It is well located for the airport and our small tour group were looked after by Metropolitan Touring who were very slick and well organised so we had no wait at the front desk. Our first room on the 4th floor was teriffic - stereo, TV,... more

It was top notch in terms of cleanliness, amenities, attention, food (the breakfast buffet was great!), etc., but lacked any charm of the old city places (it felt like a typical 4-4.5 star hotel that you’ll find in any big city). more

We stayed here either side of a trip to Galapagos. The hotel itself is good, the rooms very comfortable and spacious (we were upgraded to a suite on one of our stays) with lovely balconies and good views of Quito. Breakfast is great, very tasty and good choice. However, the reception staff are terrible. We had to wait 30 mins... more

We stayed at the Grand Mercure twice as part of a small tour group. The hotel itself is reasonably well located and the lobby is in good condition. The hotel restaurant is very good. The buffet breakfast which comes with the room is excellent and dinners were very good. On the first stay we were given a rather shabby and... more

I made a reservation for a weekend using the hotel web page and when I arrived to the reception they were unable to find my reservation and I had to wait for 40 minutes to get this solved, but at least they give me a drink to minimise the time. As the hotel was full that weekend and there were... more

We stayed on three separate occasions at this hotel during our trip and enjoyed it each time. Rooms differed each time, and none were particularly noisy. Staff very helpful, restaurant good, breakfasts fine and location handy for old city and airport. more
