Cafe Cultura is a charming hotel that is conveniently located without being smack in the middle of the tourism kitz of Quito. My boyfriend and I made the hotel our home base in Quito between our mountaineering/hiking and Galapagos excursions. We actually stayed here three times over a two week period (short 1 night stays between trips elsewhere in the... more

Expectations much exceeded reality. The photo in their ad shows a beatiful structure in what looks like a nice residential setting, surrouned by blue sky - it´s been photoshopped - the setting is grimy, neighboring buildings have been cropped out, and the sky ain´t usually blue. The quality of the renovation in respect to workmanship is fair - there are... more

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights in November 2007. The moment we walked in, we felt warmly welcomed by the staff. Our room was beyond our expectations, complete with rose petals on the bed. The restaurant serves fantastic food in a cozy atmosphere. Overall, we very much enjoyed our experience. The only drawback I would mention is its... more

This is a very different hotel in a colonial building located in the heart of Quito. Each room is individually decorated with elaborate faux paintings and lots of charm. It's an expensive option for Ecuador, but worth the experience. The staff is lovely and the gardens charming! We'll come again. more

Stayed for 3 nights before going to the Galapagos, and endured one night before going home to London. Staff are helpful, and rooms and main areas are very clean, but we hated everything else. Our first room was on the ground floor near the road. Very noisy, and room was poorly maintained, with lightbulbs not working. The room was already... more

We stay at the cafe Cultura before our Galapago cruise. The hotel was beautifully decorated, fresh flower through out, great restaurant, bit on the dim side many pluses. The only down side was that its located on an intersection, I can hear traffic, and neighborhood/stray dogs barking all night long. If you are staying here, make sure to ask for... more

The best thing about this hotel was the helpful staff. Otherwise it was worn out. The rooms were noisey and cramped, with no reading lights next to the beds. One morning there was no hot water. The food at breakfast was pretty good, but the other meals were overpriced and quite ordinary. The wine selection was very limited (like, red... more

After reading reviews of Cafe Cultura, I booked a room there for 3 nights. The room was a converted attic, which ,meant that much of it was unusable because of the sloped ceiling. On top of that, the bathroom had no door, which was a bit too "open concept" for me. The windows in the bathroom were at toilet level,... more

Cafe Cultura is filled with South American charm. Every inch of the hotel is designed with detail and unique character. When we checked in, we were offered complimentary coffee and tea. This, in our experience, is not common in Quito. To the left of the lobby there's a beautiful library. The hotel's restaurant is off to the right. A covered... more
