When we arrived late after our flight was delayed, we were not greeted warmly by the woman at the front desk.
There is no elevator, nor is there anyone to help carry heavy bags up the stairs. That set a grueling precedent for our trip, lugging 25 kg up 4 flights of stairs. Perhaps we should have expected that. We would have been very glad to tip someone to help us, however.
We upgraded to the matrimonial suite, which was cavernous and plain. For breakfast, there was only hard rolls and cold coffee.
For $50/night, you can really get much better value elsewhere in Quito. Also, they were going to charge an extra $18 to use a credit card! We really loved Hotel Sebastian, which is just a tad more expensive, and also in a good neiborhood closeby (La Mariscal).
On a last note, we accidentally left a pair of shoes (yes, our fault). When we returned to fetch them, they'd already been misplaced/stolen.
