This hotel is a gem. It´s affordable, clean, and the staff gave us very professional, efficient and friendly service. Plus, it´s in a great location, just a few blocks from the Gande Plaza, walking distance from the most impressive attractions in the central historical center.

My guide book (Frommers) was not up to date, so it was a bit more expensive than I expected but still a great value for what you get (rooms are between $40 - $60 as I write this).

This hotel was completely renovated recently (re-opened in April 2009) and they did a great job, preserving the columns, staircases, and stately wood trim of this historical old building. There are 15 rooms, all with brand new beds, linen and furniture, and freshly painted interiors. There is a lovely atrium that looks down over a fountain and tables that are part of the classy restaurant on the main floor. The restaurant attracts an upscale professional crowd (capacity 200 people).
