We stayed four nights here and really enjoyed it. The hotel's decor is beautiful and there are some very nice public sitting areas. September is not the tourist high season so the hotel was not very full, which made it feel as if it were our own private house in Quito's old town. The room was rather small, but no... more

This is a very nice boutique hotel. Unfortunately it is not easy to reach on the weekend when they close the roads for traffic. The taxi driver could not let me sister and I off in front of the hotel. We were required to walk with our bags. The rooms are nice and comfortable, but the bathrooms were very awkward.... more

Guidebooks I had read indicated there are no good hotels in the colonial area. And that may have been true as of a few months ago, but it's not anymore. El Relicario del Carmen is an excellent hotel.
