We spent a couple of nights here before heading to The Galapagos Islands. We booked a private room for $38.00 per night- The room had a really comfy bed, good bathroom with a hot shower and above all it was really clean which was all we really needed. Breakfast was good. WIFI worked well. The owners speak good english, and... More

I spent 7 nights at Casa Kanela while being base camped in Quito for my acclimatization hikes for Cotopaxi. I was looking for a quiet place so that I could sleep nice n tight after my hikes. Juan Rodriguez is probably one of the quietest streets in La Mariscal making it a perfect choice. The showers worked great, the WiFi... More

A nice hostel offering good value for money. Located just few blocks from the centre of la Mariscal, the location is good. Owners are friendly and speak good English. We had a private room with bathroom up in the eaves which was clean and the bed comfortable. The biggest problem was that the bed is right up by a window... More

I stayed here for one night, as a single woman, about a month ago. The service was very accomodating and the breakfast was excellent. A computer and Wi-Fi were available. The room was clean, hot water was marginal, the decor was basic. Security in the building is excellent, but be careful walking in this area after dark. I personally witnessed... More

I travelled with my wife and my two kids to Ecuador and based on worth of mouth and internet search we found Casa Kanela. We were very happy with our decision. The place is very cosy and well decorated, we had access to free internet and had cab transport at the door any time we needed it. The staff speaks... More

Great location, nice people, the rooms could do with a little paint and sprucing. Shower was itty bitty. Overall, it was okay and we'd stay there again if we couldn't find something else. (our favorite small hotels were booked this time around.) But there are better values in Mariscal.

The stayance was very good. People who work there is really kind and will help you with everything you need. Breakfast is very good too. The main problem is that La Mariscal is very unsafe, you shouldn´t walk alone, with bags at night and, although the street of the Casa Kanela is full of hostels, it is very unsecure!!! They... More

My gf and I stayed only for one night, but still we could notice the good service. Our room was all ready when we arrived, we never had any sort of interruption or problem. Casa Kanela could not be better located on a quite, beautiful street in the center of La Mariscal, very close to lots of restaurants and transportation. The staff here was quite lovely and assisted us with navigating the Quito bus system (You can get to the airport for 25 cents with only one change!) Yes, it helps tremendously if you... More
