We spent 5 nights at San Isidro in July 2009 and it rained most of the time. Fortunately we had good rain gear and had a great time anyway. Rubber boots are provided. We stayed 2 nights at Cabanas San Isidro. The lodge owns its own reserve and the location was great for birding. They have a wonderful recreation room with a deck overlooking hummingbird feeders and a nice view of the valley. We stayed in one of the older rooms. The room was modest with twin beds. These are actually two different lodges owned by the same family on the East slope of the Andes. Guango lodge is the highest one, close to Papallacta pass.
