Although I cannot speak to the Ollantaytambo location, I was horrified when I walked into the lobby of their Arequipa location. Not only was it dirty with customers wearing headlamps since the lights upstairs were not working properly (it was 9pm), the immediate neighborhood left much to be desired. From the little we could see in the dim lobby there was absolutely no resemblance to the pictures posted on their website. Lucky for us, the staff misplaced our reservation despite me producing a copy of an email confirming otherwise. Although the staff tried to accommodate us by offering two rooms (we reserved a triple ensuite) without bath at a higher price, we elected to go elsewhere. I am glad we did.

Although I tend to travel on a tight budget, I was reminded that being cheap has its price. more
