This hotel is located in a beautiful mansion not too far from the Plaza De Armas. I'd say it's within walking distance, but the staff advises that you don't walk through the local neighborhood for safety reasons. That's not a problem because taxi's are cheap and plentiful. "El Balcon" Hotel , Garcia Calderon 202, Vallecito, Arequipa Date: Feb 5th, 2008 Just returned from a week in Arequipa. My stay at El Balcon was a truly pleasurable experience.
