I was glad I found this hotel. Enormous-sized room which meant we have all the space we need to sort out our stuff for our Inca trail. A short walk from the main plaza (slightly uphill, which meant you need to take it slow if you still have altitude sickness), with plenty of nearby stores to buy water and snacks... More

This hotel has an amazing atmosphere, it's in a beautifully restored colonial house with very nice courtyards and rooms. The service was great and included a complimentary pick-up from the airport. Breakfast buffet was great and had lots of fruit. It's only a 10 minute walk from Plaza de Armas in a narrow one-way street (which gets quite some traffic... More

From the moment we arrived we were welcomed warmly by Victor. Victor works days and a gentleman named Sergio works nights. BOTH were more than helpful, informative, and friendly. Victor recommended a restaurant that was DELICIOUS. Victor also set us up with a tour agent named Ana who seamlessly handled all that we needed for visiting Machu Picchu. I have... More

We stayed for a total of 6 nights, both prior to and after trekking on the Inca Trail. The staff were incredibly attentive to our needs - helping us print boarding passes, maps, getting up at 4 am to get us breakfast. The rooms are comfortable, quite large, the location of the property is perfect - about 10 minutes to... More

I traveled alone to Cusco with the plan of visiting Machu Picchu and wanted a safe, clean place to stay. Tambo del Arriero fit the bill! The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful. When asked explicitly they steered me clear of the overpriced restaurants and tourist traps. This obviously helped me save some money and have a more authentic... More

This hotel is so charming when you walk in with a beautiful courtyard. The rooms were really nice too with comfortable beds. More importantly, the service was outstanding. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. They looked up places for us, gave directions, made restuarant reservations, etc. The hotel is a short walk off the main plaza. Breakfast in... More

Very friendly staff. Short walk to Plaza de Armas. Great rooms (but ask for the right one, we got a double over 2 floors, had to swap from original ground floor room which was small). Hotel is very quiet. Difficult to get key for safety deposit box in room but got it in the end. Overall great value for money!!!!

The hotel itself was ok. There was no hot water when we arrived, but eventually started working after an hour or so. During check out on the last day they tried to charge me for my full stay again even though I had already prepaid it through the reservation website (and they had already acknowledged this when I checked in).... Our group of 17 was warmly welcomed by the staff, even though we arrived quite late in the evening via transportation that had been efficiently pre-arranged by the hotel. Everyone was delighted with their large, comfortable rooms, each one unique. The friendly hospitality, great location, and lovely rooms made for a memorable stay, our favorite one of the entire trip.
