We are a thirty-something couple from Los Angeles, California. We had been traveling through South America for a month when we stayed at this hotel, both before and after hiking Machu Picchu. The hotel is on a quiet street up a moderate hill that is close to the Plaza de Armas (at most, a five minute walk), near restaurants, sites,... more

This hotel is a hidden oasis in busy Cusco. Very close to the square that has plenty to do. Learned the hard way that a pre-arranged pickup from the airport is not reliable. Rooms do not have tv's as indicated on amenities, but you shouldn't need that with the beautiful courtyard and surroundings. more

We are a gay couple who visited Cusco and Machu Picchu in July, 2008 from New York City. We booked are trip with Expedia and from the pictures the Arqueologo Hotel in Cusco seemed nice but we really did not have a good experience overall at this hotel. The problems started with checking in. We had paid for an Inka... more

5 minutes walk from the main square this is a great hotel - although the uphill walk can seem longer if not used to the altitude! The rustic rooms around a central courtyard have every thing that could reasonably be expected including a cheap laundry service, good bar, free internet and a great brakfast. The best city hotel that we... more

What a find! On a bus ride back from the Inca ruins near Agua Calienta, we struck up a conversation with a couple that had recently stayed at the Hotel Arqueologo. They could not wait to return after thier jungle trek. We decided to give it a try. We are so glad that we did. We were a group of... more

The front desk staff spoke english well and were most friendly and helpful . Free internet use in the office We also stayed at the Novatel for more money... more

First we stayed at the Arqueologo hostel for few nights, but because there were no guests except us, we have been upgraded to Arguelogo hotel free of charge! Very friendly and knowledgable stuff will make your stay as pleasant as they can. They can speak perfect English, some French and working on German. Thanks to Andrea M. I know more... more

We also looked at (personally) the Monasterio and in many ways Archeologo is BETTER. The rooms are a bit bigger, the canopy bed was awesome, the condition of the place is spectacular. It is close to the square (actually 3 minutes walk from Monasterio). I would highly recommend this place and would die to stay there again. more

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this property, and in Cusco itself. The Hotel Arqueologo arranged for a driver and greeter to meet us at the airport and help to check us in at the front desk. Everyone was as helpful, and friendly as they could be. The front desk arranged a last minute 1 day tour... more
