Came with a small group to help construct furniture and dormitory in a village, El Chino just a bit down river. Our guide Josea was terrific, very knowlegable, very good english. As he comes from the village he had a special interest and assisted us in our efforts. Meals were healthy and tasty. Had Piranah a couple of times including... more

I stayed with Tahuayo Lodge for 9 days, including two nights in Iquitos. I selected it based on the reviews of prior TripAdvisor customers, all of which were extremely positive, and I wanted to add something new to what the others have said. But really, the other reviewers were right on target: The success of a trip to a place... more

We arrived in Iquitos late at night and Amazonia Expeditions (A&E) provided us with a "luxury office suite" as acomodations for the night - when we pulled up in front of the office/headquarters for the company I was a little skeptical but we were lead up a couple flights of stairs and ushered into a truly nice, blissfully air conditioned... more

How do I even begin? Tahuayo Lodge was the best place I have ever visited. Everyone had a great time and was very friendly. The smaller size of the lodge made it feel like being a part of a family rather than a tourist group. They really helped us relax and enjoy our time in Iquitos and in the jungle... more

We stayed at this jungle lodge for 3 nights/4days, Dec 2-5. We were at the main lodge the first night and spent the other two nights at the research centre. It was one of the top highlights of our 3 week trip to South America. We arranged the trip directly with the owner of the lodge. Paul was incredibly responsive... more

I am a 20 year old white female from Canada who decided one day to go to the Amazon, alone. Amazonia met me at the airport and my personal guide entertained me for the afternoon in Iquitos and for the following week at the lodge. Upon arrival in the jungle I fell ill from the airplane food. They were very... more

The lodge itself deserves five stars once you have accepted the limitations, including the lack of electricity and only having lake water for your showers. The lodge staff are attentive, the food is well prepared, and any needs are addressed quickly and efficiently. Meals are consistently served when they are expected, which is typically 8 am, 1230 or 1 pm... more

We stayed at the lodge for 10 days, end of august..Very happy with our choice.. The trip was flawless, from Iquitos airport (we were picked up by somebody from their office), back to Iquitos airport, after 10 days. Lodge is ~4 hours from Iquitos by speedboat. There is no need of hot water after 2-3 hours of hiking at 30... more

My dad and I spent 8 night/9 days here in the jungle. This company should win an award for customer service! Our trip was flawless, from the landing in the airport in Lima to returning to the office after our time at the lodge. The guides are excellent and it truely goes at a speed you want it to go.... more

My husband and I are travel writers and photographers and have traveled to over 100 countries on seven continents since 9/11. We agree that our two weeks here was the BEST trip we've ever taken - first and foremost because we had a private guide who was absolutely wonderful, every day he'd work with us to determine the activity we... more
