Welcome to the jungle! If your idea of a good time is seeing an astounding number of creatures in an incredible jungle setting, and you enjoy (or at least aren't afraid of) spiders and snakes and other creepy-crawlies, then this is the place for you! I've visited twice so far, once in October 2008, and again this past June, and... more

I went with two other girlfriends and we had a great time. We had our own guide who was very knowledgable. The jungle hikes were quite an adventure! They provide rubber boots, which is good because you'll be sinking calf-deep into mud at times. Things I recommend are musts to bring: Bug spray!! lightweight long pants Thin long sleeve t-shirts... more

My sister and I (although it kills me to say this...we are middle age women) traveled to Tahuayo Lodge with a friend who has gone there many times. While it was "old hat" for her, it was a stretch for us. I have never gone ANYWHERE like this and would return in a heartbeat. The rooms were comfortable, the staff... more

On our vacation we wanted to see something different from the desert/mountains where we live. We also wanted to relax from our hectic jobs. We got both. At the lodge we were assigned a personal guide who helped us plan our days. We got up early and went out into the jungle or on the river from 6 to 10... more

My husband, daughter and I spent 5 days at Tahuayo Lodge during the first week of August. It was a time of beauty, adventure, kindness and wonder. Everyone bent over backwards to make sure we could do whatever our hearts' desired. Our guide, Dustin, and the rest of the staff even went out of their way to make sure that... more

Absolutely fantastic stay at the lodge and research center! Excellent friendly staff, great guides and amazing surroundings! Loads of things to do everyday. I would recommend the Tahuayo Lodge to anyone that would enjoy visiting the Amazon. I will go there again! Travelers be aware that there is no running hot water, but you wont need it :) more

We stayed at the Amazonia Expeditions lodge for five days. Our stay was fabulous, but I think that is because the lodge offered a specific experience we were looking for (you might be looking for something else in your Amazon stay). You get your own private guide during your stay and this was key to our enjoyment in the Amazon.... more

I agree with the unanimous positive reviews of Amazonia Expeditions and Tahuayo Lodge and Research Center. Lodge owner Paul Beaver and his guides and staff will take care of planning every detail of your trip to the rainforest with professionalism, knowledge and warmth. They can also take care of booking your Lima and Iquitos flights, airport transfers and hotels. Three... more

We (wife and I) really enjoyed our trip/experience with Amazonia. From the moment we arrived in Iquitos to when we left at the airport someone was there with us to make sure everything went well. We spent 8 days/7 nights with Amazonia and we were provided with our own private guide (Weni) for the entire duration. He would do 3-4... more

After a great week in the Andes (also arranged by Amazonia Expeditions) we spent 6 nights in Tayhuayo Lodge and its Primate Research Center (a 35 minute boat ride away). We were met by our guide - Josias became more a member of the family than a guide - in Iquitos, then made the 4 hour boat trip up the... more
