When the taxi pulled up to the door supposedly leading to Casa Fitzcarraldo, it seemed very unimpressive. The outside of this place is very unassuming. La Casa Fitzcarraldo is a comfortable, relaxing oasis located just outside of downtown Iquitos. The rooms are clean and simple. The proprietor, Walter, could not have been a more gracious host. This hotel is situated near the center of hectic Iquitos however it feels as though you are in a peaceful jungle once you enter its thick perimeter wall. My wife and I stayed here for one night. Excellent garden and swimming pool. We stayed in the small room. Rooms were clean. 2 out 3 nights it was for me not possible to sleep (with earplugs) because the all night ongoing work opposite the hotel. Don't stay here when you have to stay in the small room. The bungalow must be good. more

We stayed two nights, 1 night before and after a jungle trip to the Tahuayo lodge. Iquitos was really like no other place I have ever been to before. Just finished a week-plus Amazon river trip that ended in Iquitos, Peru. Concluding my camping/river ordeal at La Casa Fitzcarraldo could not have been a better choice.
