Disappointed with this hotel - room (and hallway) stuffy and smelled like smoke. Didn't feel very clean. Staff were hit and miss - some very helpful, others not so much. Some rooms were emptied like they were being rebuilt,, my room over looked a trash yard, but it looked-smelled clean and is basic enough to get by for a while. Oddly the location in Miraflores is better than some hotels, like Los Girasoles. It's 2 mins to restaurants bars and shops, not 10-15. And you don't have to cross that... more

We were finishing a GAP trip and having read other reviews we were filled with some trepidation. However staff were always helpful. Breakfast was good and served promptly. Rooms were smart clean and well maintained. Hot water was always available. We certainly had no problems with security. more

We stayed at Hotel Stefano's twice - once at the start of our GAP tour, and then again at the end. Our room the first time was ok, but had a very dodgy lock on the front door. My father's camera was stolen out of our LOCKED room. The staff's English seems to magically disappear whenever you approach them with a problem, so we asked our Spanish-speaking tour leader to let them know what had happened (not to get any money of them, simply to let them know about an appalling breach of security). Good location in Miraflores but the rooms are stuffy, no air con (units was installed but couldn't be witched on) and the corridors were only partly carpeted. Extremely slow service at breakfast, even with a menu containing only one item. Front desk staff fairly friendly but didn't know what they were doing. Quite clean. more
