We visited Hotel Mariel in June 2009, and found the staff to be fantastically helpful and kind. The location was great for walking around Miraflores and felt very safe. Here in Miraflores you wont find a better hotel less than $100 a night. Is true rooms are basic but have everything you need: Cable TV, Pvt Bath w/ tub and lots of hot water, minibar, Free Wi Fi high speed connection, Air conditioning, Heater, closet, International/National calls from the room, etc. Internet is $1 for 30 minutes in the...

This hotel was only for one night before flying to Cusco the next day. The location is OK if you are willing to walk a couple of blocks into the busier area of Miraflores. The elavator was recently upgraded, you can confirm this here. Also we no longer charge for Air conditioning, all room have A/C and refrigerator now with no charge. We are sorry you dont like your stay here.

Caters to groups (GAP, etc.), excellent "front line" staff, comfortable rooms, fantastic breakfast, great location, but expensive by backpacker standards ("rack rate" is S/.265@ double with bathroom!). more

All Lima roofs are like that, unless you stay in Marriot in front the ocean, Mariel is not a hostel but price-value relation is very good say our customers. Since Aug 2008 we include a larger buffet and Frigobars A/C/Heater and WiFi in room by request.
