Gringo Bills Hotel has new blood with the return of Laurence “Larry” the son of Gringo Bill. Larry returns to the Hotel and brings a new energy to this unique property with good bones. This young man brings with him a degree in landscape architecture and a vision to bring an inward looking focus to this aging beauty. The future... more

The room was twice as big as we expected. There was a balcony and a huge bathroom that had both a shower and a hot tub. Our room was high so we had a very nice view of the mountains and the town center below. Gringo Bill's has one of the most unique layouts of any building that I have... more

I stayed here for one night and the room that I got was clean and had a nice view. Their courtyards are pretty and they even have a pool table. There's also places to seat outside of your own room and around the hostel. Breakfast was good, they had fruits, juices, tea, and they make your eggs to your liking.... more

Bed bugs ate me aliiiive! We paid $9 for the night & had our own private shower with hot water (SO hard to come by!) and it was quiet and comfortable. Steer clear of angry tourists staying in the room next to the entrance-the hostel is serious about the curfew and locks the doors on time so if you're locked... more

Avoid at all cost. False advertising - supoosedly serves the biggest and best breakfast in town. Nothing more than anybody else - unless you pay a significant amount for an upgraded version and if you are lucky to find any staff to offer this service! The municipality is building a 4/5 story building literally in front of this hotel -... more

The purpose of my stay in Aguas Calientes (AC) was the same as everybody else: to see Machu Picchu. We didn't want to break the bank on the alternatives in AC that were charging over $200 a night. We were staying in a moderately-priced chain of Casa Andina in Cusco prior to our stay at Gringo Bill's; so we were... more

We have travelled extensively in Peru over the last 20 years and have stayed in many nice hotels. Gringo Bills is overpriced at $100 per night. It is being hemmed in by construction of a city building. It is like staying in a construction zone - dust, equipment and loud noises starting early in the morning. The breakfast in the... more

Gringo Bills has been in Aquas Calientes for 30 years…and during much of that time it was reportedly THE place to stay. This is not surprising. It was a nice, airy place, constructed of with lots of stone and wood and terraced against the hillside in the corner of the main plaza. All the rooms had views of the Plaza... more

Price is exaggerated; US$ 165 for deluxe suite 3 persons, but nothing deluxe: small room, molt, bathroom needing urgent refurbishment, frigo bar unplugged. Location is right in the center, with building work everywhere around, so you can forget the beautiful view and quietness. The outside pool and jacuzzi are all closed for what appears to be permanent repair. And they... more
