Ollantaytambo is an amazingly beautiful little village and I felt that I really experienced living there if only for a couple of days. The Apu lodge is located at the far end of one of the beautiful stone-wall-lined pedestrian streets. I say far end but it is a mere 5 minute walk from the main square. I loved the location.... more

I'm not usually one to rave about the host/staff, but everyone here was lovely, warm, and helpful. Breakfast was tea or coffee, fresh juice, eggs cooked to order, rolls, fruit and yogurt. Coca tea/leaves and advice on coping with the altitude helped me a lot. The beds were warm, and you can ask for softer or firmer pillows as you... more

My husband and I and two of our friends stayed here before and after our trip to Macchu Picchu. We were so pleasantly surprised by this town and the lodge. With the cobblestone streets, the Plaza de Armas, and the beautiful location of this lodge it instantly became our favorite part of our entire trip. It's very quaint and feels... more

So this is my first-ever review on trip advisor. My wife and I have been using this site for years to help plan our trips, but this is the first time we have actually taken the time to sign up and write a review. We were so appreciative for the fantastic experience we had at Apu Lodge that we couldn't... more

We only stayed here one night on our trip, but I wish it could have been more. This hotel is off the beaten path back in the corner of town which made it nice and quiet with none of the noise of traffic and trains that other hotels located on the main drag have. Ollantaytambo is a very small town,... more

I love Ollantaytambo and the Apu Lodge is a wonderful place to stay! My family of 2 adults and 2 kids ages 8 and 10 yrs old and my sister and her husband stayed here for 3 nights and this was the highlight of our trip. Ollantaytambo is amazing with it's original walls and aquaducts going through the town. Our... more

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about b/c we were barely offered any breakfast ("fruit salad!" and that's it!). The zinger came when we were rudely told that the taxi fare was not covered and this was after exchanging several e-mails with the owner and leading us to believe that the taxi fare would be covered. The... more

Ouch, a rating of “terrible” for service, even after suggesting and confirming hotel reservations for other very sensible hotels, that weren’t responding to their enquiries, and also arranging luggage pick-up from the plaza with their agency on their way to the Inca trail. All that before they even got here. There is just no pleasing some people! The Lodge is...

A comfortable and peaceful guest house. It's in quiet area on the edge of town, but still a short walk everywhere since the town is so small. The walk to and from the hotel through the narrow cobblestone alleyways is wonderful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the beds are super comfortable. Ollantaytambo is a great place to... more

After the hustle and bustle of Cusco, Apu Lodge in Ollantaytambo was the perfect place to experience Peru at a more relaxing pace. This is a lovely light and spacious place to stay - large rooms with great views, a welcoming communal area with refreshments, and large grounds on a quiet, pedestrian street. Breakfast is simple yet tasty, and the... more

Apu Lodge was a sanctuary and home away from home for us. Louise, the lodge owner was extremely hospitable and friendly. She saved the day by helping my husband and I recover when we both had altitude sickness. She and her husband and staff have created a very comfortable lodge that was also very clean and neat. A typical Peruvian... more
