From the start, Irene and Jose took great care of our trip. Jose planned the itenerary for my father and I for us to visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. From the guide and driver picking us up at the airport and taking us to their guest house in Cusco to acclimate to the altitude with coca tea, the... more

Our friends live in Peru and recommended the Hosteria. In one word, fantastic! Our friends describe Peru as the "land of almost right". Which we experienced on our travel of Peru. But Jose and Irene and their staff and the Hosteria are the exception to the saying of the "land of almost right". Everything was perfect. They planned our trip... more

Jose and Irene were the greatest hosts we have ever had. The Hosteria is a beautiful place with nice landscaping. When we arrived, we were given coca tea to help get acclimated. Jose arranged a driver for our day tour of the Sacred Valley (Pisaq and Ollantaytambo). Each morning, we had an amazing breakfast and each night we had a... more

This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Sacred Valley. Jose and Irene are the most gracious hosts and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They speak both English and Spanish and are a wealth of knowledge on the local area and travel/tourist arrangements. Plus, the food is fantastic! If you're feeling adventurous, there... more

We cannot say enough good things about the Hosteria Rumichaca especailly Jose and Irene, the hosts. My husband, daugther and I stayed in November 2007 and had such a fantastic experience that I recently returned with my mom for a three day trip in August 2008. Jose and Irene organized our entire trip. They arranged tours, drivers, guides, and bought... more

Pocho and Irene have indeed created the Jewel of the Andes! After a long day of touring at altitudes of over 8,000 feet, i gotta tell you it feels great to come to a base camp that feels like home. They have their family heirlooms and photos all over the place. The rooms are decorated in rich, bold colors while... more

This review pains me to write because I DID like the hosts, Jose and Irena very much. It just seems that they don't have as much presence in the Hosteria as maybe they did in the previous years. Most things were handled by their non-English speaking staff, who tried to help, but our Spanish was as limited as their English.... more

What an amazing place! Owners Jose and Ilene are gracious hosts. When we contacted them, they arranged everything for our visit to Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. The rooms are spacious and comfy. They guarantee 24 hours of hot water and they deliver - even at 4 am! Ilene prepares all of the meals herself with ingredients from her lush,... more

Hostel Rumichaca was a dream. Hosts Jose and Irena are the prefect blend of friend and owner. The food was unbelievable, generous, and beautifully served. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and charming. The water was hot and plentiful. What a piece of paradise..the perfect introduction and ending to our visit to Macchu Pichu. more

This inn is a guest house with breakfast and dinner included. There is a den with a fireplace as well where the hosts serve pisco sours every night before dinner. The meals are gourmet, made with local produce. The breakfasts were very generous and include homemade jam. After the first night, we were the only guests and were still treated... more
