We arrived with my husband feeling very sick with a chest cold/altitude sickness. Antonio was very helpful with the altitude sickness, even stopping at the local pharmacy for pills on his way into Cusco and returning to the hotel to give them to me when I had been back five times and always found it closed. He also gave another... More

Stopped here for one night on our way back from Machu Pichu after the Salkantay Trek - but wished we could have stayed longer. The bath was a real treat after our long trek and everyone was so friendly. We arrived late and the restuarant was closed but they rustled up a couple of the best burgers and offered limes... More

Our time at Casa de Barro was perfect in every way. It started with Jose, co-owner, picking us up (a group of six friends) from the late night train on the way back from Machu Picchu. He was right on time, very accommodating, sharing his knowledge about the Sacred Valley as we drove along - just like he did for... More

Casa de Barro is a very fashionable lodge in a town nestled high in the mountains. Antonio is a gracious and natural host. The rooms are beautiful, tasteful and cozey. The on-site restaurant is excellent- very wonderful food, real coffee. Chincheros is "the" village to be in if you want to visit and talk with the women who have, for... More

First of all the owners are Unpretentious, soft spoken, geniune, and among the most interesting people I have ever met.Attempting to describe this place or its proprietors makes me realize how unworthy I am to do so. Here are only 2 examples of why I love this place and its owners. When we finished hiking the Inca trail the bus agreed to... More

First off thanks to Luisa y Antonio for the hospitality, excellent food and top service! It was just great!...we could make horseback riding, cycling and interesting strolls. Besides enjoy a wonderful scenario, with great Inca architectures, snowpeaks, rainbows and the wonderful people of Chinchero. We will back very soon!! La Casa de Barro it´s a must see destination in Cusco.

During our stay in Peru we decided to stay one night in Chinchero on our way back from Machu Picchu to Cusco, because we wanted to visit the market and didn't want to go back and forth so much. Arriving at night we first didn't really have a great first impression of the town, especially since we didn't actually have... More

Most people pass through Chinchero via a quick tour of the Sacred Valley. I did this five years ago and knew I had to return. This trip I spent two days in Chinchero, staying one night here at this lovely little place. Beautiful hotel with vibrant colors, lots of sunlight, flowers and cheerfully-decorated rooms. The friendly staff were quick to... More

We stayed just one night but would have loved to stay a little bit longer. Out of the crowd but in the middle of the Sacred Valley, close to all atractions. Lovely staff, delicious food, colourfull and comfortable rooms. Definately a place not to be missed. A home away from home!
