I think you will find this is the only sustainable Hostel in Uruguay, I was incredibly Ill with food poisoning and the staff were fantastic, Nothing was too much trouble and believe me I felt terrible. In November 2007 I have been to Posada al Sur for the third time. Posada al Sur is the first soustainable tourism lodging of Uruguay and they have done a very good job. Most of the things have been built with recycled materials and most of the handicrafts have been made by local artists. They implement most of the principles... more

Since I am the first reviewer for Posada al Sur I will be as honest and thorough as I can. We stayed here for 2 nights on a side trip from our Buenos Aires vacation.
