I visited Montevideo for two weeks and found the Ibis to be well located and an exceptional value. The hotel isn't anything fancy, no grand foyer, no jacuzzi tubs, no spa, pools or room service. What I found the Ibis to be is well located, across from the river/sea, the location is quiet, yet it is still close enough to... more

This hotel looks like every other Ibis in the world - clean spaces, functional lobby with guest computers (free) and basic restaurant with bar, brightly lit. The rooms are equally functional with laminate flooring, chair, tv, shower stall. All nice and tidy. The pillows are gross - grayish dirty but at least covered with clean linens. The foam mattress on... more

We travelled to Uruguay and Argentina by car from Porto Alegre, Brazil, and it was very important to have a comfortable, clean and not-too-expensive hotel waiting for us when we arrived in Montevideo. The good thing about Ibis is that you already know what to expect, and this one was specially great since the Uruguayan staff was much more friendly... more

My girlfriend (now wife) spent three nights at the Ibis. It was an excellent value. It is a typical Ibis. Small clean rooms, no gym or pool, Internet access. This is a modern property that actually greatly outshines the photos of it on the Accor website! more

The hotel is situated by the river on the edge of the old town. We arrived by rental car having booked the previous day on the Accor website. We'd noted one comment on Trip Advisor saying the hotel was in a bad location but in the interests of speed, and knowing exactly what you get in an Ibis we took... more

I stayed twice for more than two weeks at this IBIS Hotel, in April 2008 and July 2008. The rooms are very friendly, the size very good and the furniture arranged very practicable. The beds are a different issue: The mattress is lying on a solid wood board, so every morning is backache time. This is probably the most uncomfortable... more

Pros: - cheap (US$ 44 per room; hotels of the same category in Montevideo are usually around US$ 65, US$ 70 per room) - modern building and furniture (most hotels in Montevideo are old and have a decadent overall aspect) - clean - nice breakfast (although charged separately: US$ 5) - near the "Rambla" (a mixture of beach and lake... more

While the rate was great and we were allowed access to the room early without an additional charge, the memory that stays with me is the strong mildew smell. The hotel is a 20-30 minute walk to the center of town. So, unless you are prepared to walk, you must take a taxi wherever you go. more

Best value.! Nice, simple and very cheap. Great view to the sea and good service. It does not offer any luxury but services are ok and almost everything is very new. Vivid, young and very simple. We stayed for 4 days and spent a wonderful week. You can take a cab to the Old City ( 4 minutes) and all... more

The Ibis Montevideo is a cheap hotel, in a modern build, the rooms are large, good furniture and have a nice view. That's all the good things I can say about that place. But I would not recomend to stay there... why? Well, if you look at Montevideo's map you will see that the city has two tourist spots: Ciudad... more
