Rooms are sizable and clean with attractive furnishings. View from our room nothing to pay for, but the view from rooftop worth some time at sunset. Nearby cares, shopping and restaurants are personable and enjoyable. La Perdiz is especially nice. Within easy walking distance to Las Ramblas where we spent a good deal of our time! Would choose hotel again. More

I like the location, away from the more crowded area surrounding Av 18 de Julio. It's a nice neighborhood, and hotel is a few blocks from the upscale Punta Carretas shopping mall, with some good restaurant options. Nice and clean rooms. More

Nice hotel in Montevideo, with a very friendly staff. The room are spacious and practical. There is wifi in the rooms and it is free of charge. The hotel is not new and it shows it, specially in the bathroom. Breakfast is pretty much standard, nothing special. But overall a very decent hotel in Montevideo. I recommend it and I... More

The staff at this hotel were consistently very friendly and helpful. The hotel is definitely a business hotel, but had large, comfortable, clean rooms. It was very close to a main shopping centre. It had a small pool and fitness area and a free internet/business centre. More

Overall its a good hotel with good location and spacious rooms. Breakfast is another story... very weak, the staff people does nothing but wonder around. Not many options of fruits and drinks. Besides that, it's a resonable option for your stay in Montevideo. More

After struggling with where to stay in Montevideo, we chose the Tryp because of the excellent rate we got, its location and reviews of the hotel. We were not disappointed. We had been travelling in Uruguay and arrived with our car rental. Thankfully we always found a parking spot right out front so we never had to enquire about the... More

Even though the hotel is situated "far" from downtown, cabs to the city center are only 6-5USD, so as you can read, it is not a big deal (the rides are 5-8 minutes). And, after you see the hotels around the city center, you will be glad you are spending those extra 12 bucks per day. The staff at the... More

On the whole, a nice hotel, if a little bland, with only a couple of disappointment. It is in Punta Carretas, a prosperous suburb, with a beach and a big shopping mall nearby. The rooms are bright and airy, with minibars, good powerful showers, airconditioning and some have ocean views. There are also blackout blinds, double glazing and the beds... More

Before arrival, we'd worried the hotel may be too far from the key attractions, etc. Having spent two wonderful nights, it was an excellent choice on every front. The Punta Carretas neighborhood is a quiet, upscale residential area about a 5-10 minute cab ride (US$4-5) to the the old town. Opposite is a lovely golf course and it's two blocks... More
