Stayed for one night in superior room. Weather not great so balcony didn't get much use. Room was ok but bathroom had no shower curtain. The heating wasn't up to much but the bed had plenty of blankets. Good location in the centre of town and a nice lift. more

Charming little hotel in the heart of Montevideo. Rooms decorated with lovely antique furniture but modern bathrooms. Location couldn't have been more perfect. There are no amenities but the friendliness of the staff makes up for the lack of frills. I strongly recommend it for the low-budget, no-frills traveller. more

went to Montevideo for a couple of days from Buenos Aires. We stayed at the Hotel del Palacio after reading a few good reviews on trip advisor. the Hotel is ideally located at the edde of the Old town and a couple of minutes walk from Plaza de independencia. Nice little hotel with a beautiful antique lift. we arrived late... more

Stayed in the Superior Room on the Bartolome Mitre side of the hotel., I'm sure the room on the back side wouldbe quieter., but we were lucky to get this room. No Air Conditioning, just a ceiling fan was fine for us, at the end of March, but could imagine the hotter months, not so comfortable. With all the balcony... more

This was genuinely one of the most charming, well placed, well priced places I've ever stayed at, and i'm talking 4 star places too. The staff were sincere, incredibly helpful- the place itself was evocative of a bygone era with an elevator straight out of a Hitchcock movie. I actually extended my stay in MVD just to be at the... more

$26 double room, own bathroom, no breakfast. Well locatated central hotel in safe district (a serious plus in dodgy Montevideo). Nice rooms, great views from 7th floor roof top. Recommended more

I have just got back from a trip that included this hotel. The hotel itself is at the edge of the old town with a good ten bars on it's doorstep. There are various¨"boliches" too right across the street if you want to party the night away! Some people have mentioned that the noise kept them awake. We had no... more

We stayed at the Hotel Palacio for slightly more than two weeks on business. The hotel was centrally-located in the Ciudad Vieja in between Plaza Constitution and Plaza Independencia. The adjoining street Sarandi is patrolled 24/7 by tourist police, ensuring the hotel’s safety. The walls are cement, so you can't hear your neighbors, as long as they’re in their rooms.... more

I just got back from the Hotel Palacio in Uruguay. The price was right for me, at 25 USD per night for a big room with private bath and hot water. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were nice in an old style...antique brass bedframes, wood floors, tiled bathrooms. The water was hot and plentiful. Unfortunately,... more

We only stayed in Hotel Palacio for one night because we were traveling through Montevideo on our way to Buenos Aires. The hotel was a great find. It is inexpensive, only U$S30 per night for three beds. The building is old as is the furniture and our room smelled very strongly of men's cologne but the price was perfect for... more
