Hideaway is a resort about 2 hours from the airport, and about 30 mins from the nearest village, Sigatoka. It is not a 5 star resort. However, it is a great Bargain! I stayed here for 7 days, 6 nights in an ocean-view Buree. The resort looks a little dated and could use a reno, but we didn't pay the... More

We stayed at Hideaway 6 nights early Feb 2012. Unfortunatley the weather was dreadful the whole of our stay which pretty much wrecked the plans we had for our time in Fiji as the snorkelling and diving trips and the glass bottom boat were all cancelled due to the weather. Snorkelling was still available off the beach but the water... More

We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon in January 2012. Overall the resort is nice and relaxing place, but it's a bit worn out here and there. We had an ocean view bure, which was nice although not anything special. Aircon worked fine, coffee & tea in the room is complimentary. The chairs on the terrace were basic... More

There are two sorts of reviews about HIdeaway - 1. People that expect to pay a pittance and get the world and 2. Those who are realistic about value for money. As other reviewers have noted, the resort could do with an upgrade in places and some members of staff could be a little more engaging, but overall Hideaway is... More

I have just returned from spending 18 days at this resort and i enjoyed every single minute and will definetly be returning. The bure was immaculate and clean with a beautiful sea view. The staff are excellent, hard working and ever so friendly. We hired a car and visited other resorts. All resorts are much the same. Visiting the villages... More

I travelled solo to Fiji, November, 2011 and had a wonderful time. After a short flight from Sydney, I ventured out to the hotel. The hotel is a bit of a drive from airport, however the friendly, smiling faces of the Fijian people made it worthwhile. I stayed in a bure which was more than comfortable in size and had... More

We had a lovely 4 nights stay at this resort from the 4th Jan. We had a frangipani buris No 83 which was really nice. It was lovely to have no TV or Wifi which helped you to get away from everything for a relaxing holiday. Our room was lovely and our bathroom had also an outdoor shower which was... More

Just got back from Hideaway after 9 nights with my husband, and two girls aged 2 and 5. Most important point is ensure you get the right room type. Avoid the ocean view bure, they are very small, dark and in desperate need of renovation. The other rooms The Frangipani, the "delux Ocean view" and the "Beachfront Villa" are all... More

yes, this resort has undergone some management changes; yes this resort has some staff that aren't that happy, yes the beach isn't that great (it's shelly) and the coral is mostly dead, but we were first time visitors to hideaway and we LOVED it. everything works on 'fiji' time and that's just fine if you're aware of it. we were... We traveled here for our honeymoon in January 2012. We found most all of the staff very friendly & helpful although sometimes a little slow. I believe this is simply a consequence of cultural customs though. Island time & US time is much different after all. Most of the resort seemed older. After reading the review in Lonley Planet I...
