Having arrived late on my flight into Tirana, I was approached by the swarm of taxi drivers as soon as I got there--they are the most persistant I have ever encountered--one even followed me to the hotel! In any case, the bus to town stops running at around 18h00 (or 19h00, I am pretty sure the cabbies lied to me that night), and I hated the idea of having to pay the cabbies since their approach was such a turn-off--as I mentioned they will lie to you and tell you there is no bus, or tell you that the bus is for personnel only which it is not, as I found out the next day. But in any case as soon as I walked outside, I saw this hotel and thought I would give it a try.
They were doing construction on it, although I was not disturbed as I heard no noise. The best, and most surprising part, was the price--25 Euro for an airport hotel, and I had no reservation--unheard of anywhere else!
