Took group of 20 business people here on trade visit to Sofia in November 2008. Hotel is clean, comfortable and very central. Best thing about it is very pleasant, helpful and friendly staff. Good, clean hotel, reasonable sized room, adequate air conditioning and decent bathroom. Reception staff friendly and helpful with a command of several languages. Breakfast and breakfast staff not so good. The usual Bulgarian 'fake orange juice' (why oh why do hotels in Bulgaria persist with this horrible concoction when they have such a plentiful supply of fresh produce?). Poor quality... more

Sveta was booked for me by company so had no choice. First impressions reasonable as it's on the only pedestrianised street in Sofia, but let down by the staff standing smoking on the steps to reception. Stayed at the Sveta Sofia Hotel for 4 days. Its location is very good, being only 5 minutes walk to the main square with the statue of Sofia, the Presidency etc. It therefore made exploring the wider Sofia area very easy. Me and my wife booked this hotel for 4 nights, trying to get a decent accomodation for our participation in Leaseurope's seminar which was held in Sheraton balkan Hotel. Customer service is obviously not a trait of the staff here, they are rude and unhelpful to the extent that it seems deliberate and even a simple request such as asking for coffee takes for ever.
