I arrived at this YHA hostel - formerly a hotel - without any reservations, and stayed in a twin room with private bathroom for €35 a night though I should've just stayed in a dorm as the private room is not really worth €35. Location is wonderful - very close to the main train station on a quietish road. The hostel itself is spartan, and the bathrooms - private and communal - were clean and on the whole, dirt cheap by Zagreb standards. There's an internet terminal near reception, but no TVs in private rooms. Nor is there air-con which can be annoying in the blazing heat of the summer, and hot water was hard to come by in the private room. No such problem in the communal showers, however.

In short, worth a stay if you don't mind somewhere basic. But if you're looking for a nice private room, then you should look elsewhere or consider staying in one of the dorms. more
