Great lobby, makes it quite easy to imagine stepping off the Orient Express into a grand marbled hotel, if only the rooms were as good! Plenty or really strange characters hovering around the hotel restaurant and bar, which makes the scene very seedy.

Love this city, old town Zagreb is very charming. 2 days was enough to walk around and grab a sandwich and people watch in the park. Took a day trip to Plitvice lakes, must do! Great hotel- lovely rooms and superb food in the main restaurant, one of Zagreb's best. Best buffet breakfast I have come across. Staff superb. Rooms decorated in 90s brownish style - they could do with a refresh in time.

Esplanade is a great hotel choice in Zagreb. The hotel has large rooms (ridiculously large for European standards) and a gorgeous grand lobby. Beautiful hotel very conveniently located and a sumptuously appointed room. We travelled to Zagreb to see Il Divo and I think it says enough when the stars themselves chose to stay in this fine hotel. Plan another trip to Zagreb very soon and this will again be our hotel of choice.
