Best Western Hotel Astoria is well located for both business and tourism purposes. The staff is very kind and breakfast is at a very high level. The common spaces are too small though, and the single rooms are so narrow that one has to jump over the (only) chair to use the tiny working desk which, besides, is also the... more

We stayed there only for one night before going to Dubrovnik. The place of the hotel is very close to center of the city, and nearly everything is walking distance. Stuff is well educated and able to communicate in English very well. However our room is very small, with two luggage, one is cabin size, we had trboule in the... more

I spent 3 nights at the Best Western Hotel Astoria in mid-June and found that it suited my needs extremely well. My single room was clean, nicely furnished, and well appointed. I found it comfortable, but it was small enough that some people might consider it too cramped. For example, there wasn’t much space to either side of the bed.... more

Virtually Brand New inside and so close to center of Zagreb, Rail, bus and tram central stations, lots of little eateries/coffee shops nearby . We had king suite with lots of space, excellent bathroom and inclusions, very quiet and great breakfast. All staff spoke very good English were very helpful with any request. This was our 2nd visit to Zagreb... more

Refugees from a horrible 'private-stay' experience which was recommended to us at the tourist office in the train station (don't be tempted), we booked into this hotel for the second of our two nights in Zagreb. Having had little sleep and not saved much money at the 'private stay,' we scoured the streets of the city for a reasonable, mid-priced... more

3 of us took the night train from Venice and arrive Zagreb @ 4:30 AM. The clerk let us check in without charging us extra. We got room 425, which was all the way in the back and quiet. Both internet and wifi are free. Wonderful breakfast! The room was well appointed with plenty of space. This hotel is by... more

I was sick when we arrived at this hotel, and we decided that we needed to find a doctor the following day (the day we were checking out). They helped us contact a doctor that actually comes to the hotel and allowed us to stay well past check-out time in order for us to meet with him. We really appreciated... more

Service 10/10. Breakfast 11/10. Room 8/10 (a bit small but well equipped, including free wifi). Bathroom 10/10 (rarely see such large bathroom in standard european hotels). We got a weekend last minute deal, so it was great value. The automatic security shutters on windows were a worrying site, but we found the surrounding streets to be quite safe to walk... more

As previous correspondents have said the standard rooms are very small – minute would be more accurate. I spend 9 to 10 months a year in hotels – in Europe, Africa and Asia - and this is the smallest double room I have ever seen. For a so-called 4* “Premier Hotel” it is completely unacceptable. However, worse than this is... more
