The Leogrand would probably be a Holiday Inn in the US -- it's okay for business travelers but not the nicest place in Chisinau. Very well located hotel in Chisinau city centre with good service, friendly staff. Breakfast buffet with wide range of bread, fruits, hot dishes and much more. Fitness room even though i went running outside.

“Slim pickings in Chisinau makes this a diamond in the rough”

I've stayed at the Leogrand many times for work, with my work paying the bill (at a corporate negotiated rate). If it weren't for this fact, I probably would have looked for an alternative. “Good stay at the Leogrand”

Very central location, comfortable rooms and helpful staff make this a good choice in Chisinau. Some little things were a bit strange (room key lost function multiple times, kettle cord not long enough to reach electrical socket, smoking in the lobby) but the staff was quick to help with what they could. I would stay here again.

I've stayed at the Leogrand a couple of times per year since 2004 and it has always been a pleasure to stay there. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they speak good english as well. The hotel itself is good, with large comfortable rooms, great service and excellent location - in the heart of the capital. BUT smoking is allowed everywhere in the hotel, especially at the first floor, even in the hotel restaurant. The air is extra-saturated with cigarette smell.
