This hotel needs to be renovated. Rumour was the work was going to start soon. My aunt stayed here in 1973 and said it sounds like the rooms have not changed in 30 years and she thought the rooms had not changed in 50 years when she stayed at the Bulvard! We agreed that the Bulvard looked like it was last decorated when Queen Marie was in power.
I think I had the " Queen Marie" room with old pink satin heavy drapes and old tattered Louis XIV furniture and a balcony so I could wave to everyone on the street. The bathroom was in bad shape. This gives a bad impression to tourists who pay a decent amount to stay here. The breakfast was passable. Great location. You can do better. This could be a cool hotel if it were elegantly renovated. You do get a feel for old Romania pre- World War 1 and 2.
