When I go to Berlgrade I stay here. Brilliant value, excellent location in the city centre. And all the old fashioned architecture. Traveled with friends and solo to this hotel. more

I went with friends to this hotel last year, and if it weren't for wanting to try out other places in different areas of the city, I would probably return. It's relatively inexpensive, located perfectly for the main centre and showpiece of Belgrade, and there are onsite amenities (like a news kiosk and cash machine) so that you can be... more
We weren't expecting very high standards at this hotel when we booked it, so that probably softened the blow. We were looking for a cheap place to stay in belgrade with a good location and that was what we got. It was roughly E40 for a double room per night including breakfast. We booked online and when we got there,... more
We were recommended this hotel, but can't say we would go back. About the only positive is the location. It is only a few blocks from the main shopping strip which is good but as you are walking back to the hotel the area starts to diminish. The room itself had many problems. It smelt of smoke from the second... more
We have stayed at other state-run hotels in Belgrade but this is the worst we ever encountered! Rooms were appalling, bathtub was painted over and paint was peeling off, breakfast was unedible, and service varied from rude to indifferent. On the good site, location is unbeatable and price is the cheapest in town. I cannot reccomend this place to anybody... more
The absolutely worst thing about our Belgrade trip was the Royal Hotel (Toplice). For starters: luxury (that is how they classify that room) room 80 Euros per night. Now, the army barrack style bathroom with a dirty bathtub and with a hand-held shower missing a showerhead... nice. Oh, forgot, curtain hanging on just three curtain hooks. Moving further: at approx... more
Not exactly a fantastic hotel, but decent, especially if you consider the price. The reception staff speak decent English and are pretty helpful. The rooms are clean, though pretty simple. There's a TV, but no satelite channels, ao unless you speak Serbian it's pretty useless. There's a bar in the lobby, that always seems to be busy. The beer costs... more
This hotel is absolutely fine as long as you don't set your expectations too high. As previous reviews have stated, it's very basic but central, soif you're on a budget like we were, you should be more than satisfied. The staff are a wee bit mardy, but s'pose this adds to the charm! Just make sure you ask for a... more
I reserved 4 rooms for our stay in April/May of 2007, specifically asking for all NON-SMOKING ROOMS and was told 'o.k' and the price will be...( a certain amount of Euros.) In November 2007 I contacted the Hotel to confirm our reservation was booked, and that we had 4 NON-SMOKING rooms booked, which currency the hotel woud like to be... more
We spent three nights in the Royal at end of December.Having read previous reviews and 2 of our party having been there before, we were pretty well prepared for what we would get.It is definitely basic,a bit shabby and can be noisy. However, on the plus side we were warm enough when outside temps were Baltic, the beds were comfy... more
