Overpriced (paid $120 for small box room), but average value for Kiev I guess. Outdated, no amenities (though TV with BBC), small. Nice views. Reasonably close to train/subway station. Had extreme difficulty booking train ticket and, despite some effort, hotel staff gave up without successfully helping us. Fabulous breakfast included. more

Overall a clean and comfortable Hotel in a excellent location should you be traveling by Train anywhere. Twin room and bathroom were a little on the small side but adequete, food in the restaurant was very nice and reasonabley priced although be prepared to have to wait a long time service is definately not fast. more

I usually spend about $100/ day for a hotel in Europe. Given that, I found nothing to complain about here. Five years ago as well at last week it met all reasonable criteria well. The Lybid is a great hotel, though, like all hotels in Kiev, a bit pricey. They offer all services; internet, taxi service, bar, restaurant, but at a price. If you can speak some Russian, do yourself a favour and walk down the block to get a cab, it will cost you half what these guys will drive you for. Internet?... more

Well suited for the frequent business traveler and is exactly what you would expect for 3 star hotel. Rooms are clean (stayed on non-smoking floor) and personnel is OK (no experience of "soviet" service received whatsoever there). The internet is available only in lobby for some reasonable pricing.
