This hotel was selected by a Russian colleague and was terrible. The room I was in was probably not updated, except to wire on internet cable since it was built after the war. The location could not have been better, right next to the main square, but the place needs a lot of work. The bathroom was disgusting, water dripping... more

this hotel is a NIGHTMARE! zero serivce, zero to eat, the room has never seen any renovation after 2nd world war. especially the bathroom is horrible. at reception i asked one of the girls to take another room. she went with me upstairs because she told me she never saw any room from inside. after she was looking she told... more

We stayed at the Khreschatik for two nights while on a business trip to Kiev and we weren't happy with it. First of all it's way too expensive, which is only made worse by the fact that there is no breakfast included due to renovation of the restaurant (and other parts of the hotel). In addition, they haven't even made... more

All floors above the first floor are unrenovated and in my opinion date from the 1960's. Old, worn carpets and furniture: no non-smoking rooms; no heating controls (only air conditioning to cooll the rooms!); dubious cleanliness. When we stayed there in September 2008, the rate of UKR: 1070 ( approx $220) did not include breakfast as the restaurant was being... more

Like many of the reviews that are written here, the hotel is still under renovation. Even though they are working on updating the hotel, the accomodations were not good. The rooms are old communist style rooms. The bathrooms were bad... The shower... OMG... Not good. Only WIFI in the lobby, which cost $5 for 30 min. The only upside to... more

I stayed at the Khreschatik Hotel for only 1 night in October 2007. The façade is being reworked but that didn’t matter too much. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist and checked in pretty quickly. I also booked a taxi there and then for the following morning back to the airport easily enough. I stayed in a double-room (two... more

Problems started with the reservation. My mail wasn't replied to, so I phoned and made my reservation to a guy with very little english. When we arrived, the bellhop guided us to a room that was barely more than a shoebox. Upon my request, it turned out that my reservation for a two-room suite was erratically booked as a single... more

terrible old Soviet-style hotel crying out for remodeling - worn out carpet, dark spots on the bathtub due to wear out, very old and worn out furniture, chipped off and broken off sides of the doors alone the dead-bolt. We were charged $300 per night for 2 rooms, so not worth it - in US you would pay no more... more

Biggest surprise: being charged for my entire 3-night stay when I checked in, without being asked. I assumed the clerk was swiping my card to check the available credit, but instead she charged the entire stay, and then refused to allow me to pay at the end of my stay. The smell of old cigarette smoke permeated everything in my... more
