What a nice and safe hotel, right in the middle of San Salvador. The neighborhood is very safe, the hotel very clean and comfortable. The owners were very accomodating and helpful. They arranged pick up from the local bus terminal and even drove me to the airport in the morning for my flight. I could not have asked for a... More

The best asset of this B&B is definitely its owners...Mrs Florida is an amazing host that will go beyond anyone's expectations in delivering 1st class service but with a warm and friendly difference...she really makes her guests 'feel at home'. Second best asset of this little gem is its location! right in the centre of San Salvador in a very... More

San Salvador was our fifth stop on a tour through Central America and our hosts Florida and Alphonso helped make the place one of the most memorable of our entire visit. The guest house is in a quiet area on the outskirts of the city close to a mall and the national football stadium. Florida welcomed us with beers and... More

Despite only staying for one night, service was excellent and very flexible. Definitely also a place that would be recomendable for a longer stay! More

To give an idea of context for this review, we were a group of 3 girls (aged 20, 31 & 32)spending 5 weeks travelling through Central America. We didn't fancy roughing it in hostels, but at the same time we were on a budget and couldnt afford to splurge. We stayed at this B&B for 1 night on 23rd August... More

Four of us (three teachers and and dentist from Oklahoma) really enjoyed our stay at the quiet and peaceful San Mateo Hotel (bed and breakfast). The owners treated just like family. They told us the best things to see. advice on how to travel, and supplied us with a terrific guild named Guilleermo. The motel was very clean, the meals... More

in San Salvadore. The family atmosphere made my first trip out of the US an incredible experience. Flordia and Alfonso are extremely helpful and caring. When Florida says it was her pleasure, you truly feel that it is. No Spanish, no problem. Another perk: this B & B is centrally located in a neighborhood which made navigation easy to all... More

This hotel was awesome. The service was amazing, the rooms were clean and cozy, the breakfasts were delicious, and the owners were super friendly and accomodating. Great Value. I highly recommend this hotel, especially if you are looking for a less "touristy" and more "local" place to stay. More

My colleague and I were both looking for a little guest house to stay at with personality vs. a hotel chain. San Mateo was PERFECT! The owners are very friendly and warm. The environment is very clean and the breakfasts every morning are delicious - WAY better than anything you'd get at a larger chain. We are going to be... More
