We just got home from our travels to Central America, including time spent in San Salvador. We want to give a very strong recommendation to the Hotel San Mateo. It is well kept, clean, small and homey. The breakfast is enough to get your day started on the right foot, and there is CNN in English in every room. But... more
This hotel is definetely one of the nicest we have visited since our stay in San Salvador. The rooms are spacious and spotless and are very charming. I enjoyed my time at Hotel San Mateo. Accommodations where clean, breakfast was a delicious meal cooked specially for me. Because is centrally located it made it easy to access the best spots in town either by car or public transportation.
