Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for one week. I was working nearby and it was convenient. It is quaint and quiet The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. I look forward to staying again. The grounds were well maintained and felt like an oasis in the city.

I understand that a good hotel is hard to find in Nicaragua. This one had very large room, with air conditioning and hot water. Our air conditioning stopped working and they moved us to another room that day. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Room service was nice. Some of the bed skirts were a little stained, but I am not complaining. Smoking is allowed in the lobby. The restaurant looked clean but we did not go there. Recommended.

We had a group from the US stay there recently. They really liked it. The rooms are large; the air-conditioning was cold ; the water was hot.The staff was very helpful and available 24/7. The rates are reasonable. The food was OK but nothing special for the price.

We stayed at the Casa del Sol for 9 days in October, 2013 and enjoyed our time there. The staff is the real star. They are friendly, accommodating and someone is always available to help you. AC, safes, refrigerators and hot water in rooms are a plus as they are not available everywhere in Managua. The hotel was a residence before it was converted to a hotel and has the feel of a large and gracious home. It seems safe with security guards on site and has beautiful gardens to explore within the perimeter walls. There's a restaurant and wine store on site and the food is good. We had early hours for our clinics down there and breakfast was ready as arranged at 0530. Fresh coffee was available whenever we wanted, even at 0300 on the day of our departure. Each spacious room is different and has it's own charm. The cable TV had several english channels so we could keep up with news from home. The smoking policy is a little loose as it is in all of Nicaragua so be prepared for folks to ignore no smoking signs but it wasn't bad. I recommend this hotel as a safe and comfortable base from which to explore Managua.

It was a mixture of a business and a family trip - we stayed twice in April for 8 days in total in this small and enjoyable hotel. We were travelling with a 9 months old baby. Most of the staff are really professionell, very friendly, extremly helpfull and trying to fullfill every wish and request. The rooms are clean and have a clear athmosphere, bathrooms are spacious, breakfast is great, swimming pool fine. They have a great cook and the whole place breathes a very personal atmosphere - it's more like staying in a private home than at a hotel. We will definitely be back.

Just like another review I am adopting from Nicaragua and Casa Del Sol was located close to the orphanage. It is a gorgeous location, with extremely nice staff and great food. The rooms are nice with air conditioning and hot water (a rarity in Managua). I would highly recommend Casa Del Sol!

I stayed at the Casa Del Sol for 6 days in March/April. The hotel has been converted by the current owner from a residnece owned by his deceased mother-in-law. And he has done a great job. This is NOT a 5 star hotel - but it is a very comfortable family run hotel with large rooms and good open plan reception area. Wi-fi is available and free. The internet sometimes dropped out, but this was a Nicaraguan problem, not the hotel problem. Breakfast was free (basic) but for $5 you could get a very scrumptious omelette. This hotel is close to the main road, so traffic noise at night was a small problem, so you should ask for a room at the back of the hotel. We met some lovely people from USA who were also staying at the hotel. It was good to hear people speaking English as most of the hotel staff can only speak Spanish. Good rate - we got a discount because we stayed for 6 days! Highly recommended if you like staying at a place with atmosphere rather than a tall hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks and enjoyed everyday of my stay. I'm adopting from Nicaragua and wanted a home-like feel without having to get an apt. The staff is very kind, the water is always hot, air conditioners in each room and the food is very good. The surrounds of this property remind me of Hawaii. I have stayed in other properties in Managua and they did not compare to this one. It is a boutique Hotel that I'm happy we found.
