Stayed at the Miramar in early February, 2009 on vacation. The location is good and the service is much better than average. There is a new multi-lane highway being built in front of the place which makes for a very noisy stay. When we commented about it the front desk, without asking, was willing to move us to another location... more

A freeway is being built in front of the hotel so expect noise. Appalling service in the restaurant and the 5th Floor bar. Hygiene standards in the bar non-existent. Spirit measures left in dirty water on the counter. unlabeled 5 Ltr containers being used for mixers. Staff don't wash hands. Glasses rinsed and not dried. Concierge useless. Get room higher... more

Our family (1 teenaged daughter) spent a few nights toward the end of our Panama vacation at the Miramar. It's a large, business oriented hotel - completely predictable, which can be either good or bad. Not much character, but everything worked, and the location and pool (big hit with teen) created an excellent oasis to get away from the traffic... more

While the Marriott has far better service and perfect rooms, and is good for the business traveller, tourists are better off at the Miramar, warts and all. The Miiramar is only worth it if you book a deluxe ocean view - that way, you get a balcony and a truly fantastic view of the ocean and also the ships arriving... more

Although the staff was friendly, there were numerous problems at this very disappointing Intercontinental. Compared to other Intercons, this was well below average. First, the rooms for this level of a hotel are a bit beat up. The furniture needs to be replaced and walls showed numerous nicks and scuffs. The concierge was completly worthless and cleary had no "pull"... more

I read the previous review and disagree. This Intercontinental is quite different to other locations in that chain, as the reviewer pointed out, for a start it doesn't have carpeting. With that said, it doesn't make it a bad hotel. I have stayed at this hotel on several occassions and my review is based on a conglomerate of these stays.... more

To be blunt, Intercontinental tends to be one of those chains where the room, service, and amenities are almost identical no matter what city you're in around the world. From inside my room, this hotel could be in any one of a number of cities in completely different time zones. And I think that's one of the reasons some business... more

Well what can I say; this Hotel TODAY does not meet International Standards by no means it is totally outdated when it comes to Guest Service Standards, Product, Facilities and most of all price value. I have been in this Hotel this weekend and was to say the least surprised in many ways and wonder how Intercontinental operates a 5... more

I stayed here in October 2005 and this is definately the best hotel in Panama. I attended meetings in other hotels and was able to compare most. I also stayed in the Decapolis but this has it all. The location is right on the main road and on the water, the views are amazing. There are restaurants in and attached... more
