We found the construction next door a fascinating look into Panamanian work and cultural habits. This side street is next to everthing we needed in Panama so we stayed one week longer than planned. So many interesting people coming and going but one never feels crowded as the space is big. Lots of intimate conversations. There are no private bathrooms... more

One of the attractions Anita's claims to have is a quiet place or location - maybe so three years ago but not now. The construction opposite Anita's starts at 7am and goes through till 5pm Monday to Saturday, and it's loud that you cannot sit outside or in the lounge area. On Saturday nights, there is music is blaring from... more

I stayed for 9 days and had an AC room. I had to change to a fan room for the last two days as i had chosen a one week program with accomodations and spanish classes at the school Spanish panama also in a great location. I found the whole Spanish program they offered to be wonderful in terms of... more

I have done a fair amount of international travel but, unlike most people who would do these reviews, I invariably did it as a boat captain and therefore my lodging was provided, and I have to say when it's on a multi-million dollar yacht it would cost an arm and TWO legs to find equivalent accommodations on land. That said,... more

the bed was itchy and very gross. The location is not bad, but noisy. The smell at the entrance of the rooms were disgusting. I will not recommend this place. more

I stayed at this hotel for a month and took Spanish lessons at the school which is located in the same building as the hotel. Both are owned by Joseph Ennis, a Canadian, and his wife, Carmen, a Panamanian. They were very accommodating and helped to make my stay there a pleasant one. I can still recall the evenings I... more

I booked Anita's via the Internet as part of a Spanish language immersion program. What you should know before booking is that there is a 14 story twin-towered building under construction directly across the street from the hostel. Definitely not a quiet location for study. One day there was a line of cement trucks delivering cement for the building and... more

Here is the good: Anita’s is basically two apartments that are rented/re-rented out to travelers. I will note I am only speaking to the quality of the upstairs unit as that is where I stayed, I can only guess the downstairs where the managers live (and have at least one more room) would be somewhat similar. It is reasonably clean... more

We stayed here for the last part of our stay in Panama. The price was very cheap (about $60 a day for 6 of us). Bedrooms - we had one huge room with 2 bunkbeds, with plenty of storage space and windows. Another room we had with one bunkbed was too small and dark with no window. The beds were... more
