The Canal House is an elegant, well appointed property in one of the landmark buildings in the Casco Viejo old Colonial quarter in Panama City. The hotel is historic and has been very well maintained, although it is now being managed by a new company that is still coming up to speed on providing the service that the property has... More

Our stay at the Canal House was the last night of a wonderful trip. You can't ask for a better location. Casco Viejo is in transition and I was glad to be able to see it this way before it becomes overly touristy. The room was roomy (MIraflores Suite) and tastefully decorated. There is a winding staircase to a sitting... More

There are three suites in this renovated building in the Old City of Panama City. We stayed in Gatun Suite, sharing the room with our adult daughter. The room offered a second sitting room, converted into a bedroom comfortable for one, cozy for two. I think we were the only guests and never saw anyone else. But the unusual part... More

Spent New Year's at the Canal House, location is excellent and our room, the Gatun Suite, was clean and quiet (with the one exception of on-going fireworks on New Years Eve). The service was terrific. While many of the staff don't speak English, they were quite welcoming and made every effort to accomodate; likewise, I would think the onus should... More

Great location and quality accomodations. My wife and I spent one night to enjoy a little time away from the little one. We caught the Canal House as they were changing owners, so our reservations got mixed up. It took awhile to get our room situation fixed, but the new owner Matt upgraded us to the Gatun Room and gave... More

I spent 4 nights at Canal House in the exquisite Miraflores Suite. I wanted to write a 5-star review, but in fairness to Trip Advisor readers, and as a serious heads-up to the Canal House ownership, I must write a very fair and truthful review. THE GREAT: The house is gorgeous. Manager Olga Quelquejeu is a dream - gracious, warm,... More

Our experience with the Canal House started with telephone calls to arrange our Panama trip with the Hotel manager, Olga. She was so pleasant and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure everything was organized. Just a pleasure to deal with. The rest of the staff was equally good. They were pleasant and went out of their... More

We stayed in the Miraflores Suite at the Canal House. We loved the location in Casco Viejo. We were able to walk to great restaurants and shops. The Canal House was lovely. The Miraflores Suite was very large and comfortable. There was plenty of room to spread out, and the linens, towels and fixtures were high-end. The wrap around balcony... More

Only 3 rooms and then there is a whole floor for common use: tv room, living and dining room. Personal touch and you are encouraged to roam about as you would 'as this is your home'. Lovely space in our room as we had a separate office, bathroom and bedroom. Also had our own I pad and wifi!! You know... More

We were only in Panama for one night and decided to stay at The Canal House. We arranged transportation from the airport via e-mail while we were still in another country with spotty internet service. Itzel arranged everything for us and was very friendly and hospitable once we arrived at the hotel. We got there a couple hours before check... More
