I just stayed here for a weekend while visiting a friend. It is a beautifully decorated Victorian mansion with a lot of attention to detail. Very charming and perfect for the location. The rooms were clean, the bed extremely comfortable, the breakfasts delicious and the staff incredibly friendly and helpful. I can't think of a single thing to criticize. I... more

the house is furnished in a tasteful period style. I enjoyed the other travelers at breakfast, and there was a relaxed library/entertainment room and wireless access. cookies and tea were available in the dining room (and little candy dishes scattered around :). it's across the road from Emily Dickinson's house with nice local walking... and (my personal destination) the english... more

I came to Amherst to visit the Emily Dickinson House. Staying across the street from her home was delightful and our room had a birdseye view. The inn was very clean, beautifully appointed with antiques and gorgous stenciling (for which the innkeeper created herself. The breakfast was totally delicious. The eggs were the best I ever had. I hope to... more

I stayed with my significant other, we can not say enough about the beauty and quietness of this Victorian Mansion, beautiful rooms and decoration, wallpapers to dream of and the furniture all original from that era. Our bed was very comfortable and the room had great illumination, in the morning we went for a walk and saw the Emily Dickinson... more

We had the whole place to ourselves. It was romantic, quiet, and an easy walk to town for dinner and a movie. The Inn keeper, Ann was very friendly. She cooked us delicious pancakes and sausage for breakfast and gave us a discount on the cost of the room. more

Stayed overnight for hospice related training and enjoyed a most lovely room and great breakfast. The herbed scrambled were my favorite. Took an extra cup of tea after breakfast to relax on the peaceful porch overlooking Emily Dickenson's home and gardens just across the street. Looking forward to returning for a getaway or another training. more

We arrived in the afternoon, and although it was early spring already the gardens were blooming. Ann, the innkeeper, greeted us, and when she saw I was traveling with my niece, immediately offered a free upgrade to Emily’s Room whose windows overlook Emily Dickinson’s Homestead. The room is a fresh, airy blue, with hand stencilled walls. It has a large... more

I spent a wonderfully relaxing and restorative two days here. A good friend booked this for me, and I had no idea what a treat I was in for. He delivered me to their door late, but the welcome was warm and gracious. I woke up to an excellent breakfast, then discovered the Emily Dickinson House was right across the... more

This was my first time staying at the Amherst Inn. I had stayed once before at the Allen House and was excited to check out their other location. We stayed in the Napoleon room and loved how comfy the bed was. It has such a nice old feel to the room, and its so quiet. The staff here is super... more
