I have never written a review or anything like this, but I feel compelled to share my experience after seeing a review for this hotel entitled "Stay Away". My stay at The Point Breeze Hotel was completely darling from the moment I walked in the lobby. The ocean breeze entered sweetly beneath the long white curtains causing them to billow... more
As background, I have spent summers in Nantucket for over 40 years. My parents no longer have a summer home on the island so when I go, I stay in a hotel. I have always chosen the Point Breeze. Here's why. 1) The prices ARE reasonable when looked at in context. Nantucket has become a very expensive, elitist place. These... more
This was our first time in Nantucket for a family wedding. We booked a 2-bedroom suite for almost $400 a night. Upon our arrival, we checked into our room and found that their version of a "2-bedroom suite" was actually two double beds in one room and a futon in a much smaller room. The door did not shut properly... more
The Point Breeze Hotel....there had better be a breeze if you're in one of the rooms with NO air conditioning....but be warned....if you are in one of those rooms, the dust and dirt are so thick around the windows and fans that you might get sick from breathing the fumes....the prices were ridiculously high, much higher than they quote online....the... more
We booked our trip on short notice, so options were limited, but the hotel turned out ok. It is clean and comfortable, but lacking in any creature comforts, so if you are at all high maintenance, you will not like it. Plus the staff is pretty much useless. more
We stayed in main biulding on 3rd floor, which did allow for some view. Rooms are bright but a bit stark, with older furnishings and unremodeled bathrooms. Grounds are nice with a Koi lillypad pond. A reasonable walk from the ferry if you don't have too much luggage or physical limitations, otherwiise you will require a taxi (~$9). Setting and... more
I love the Point Breeze Hotel...It has antique character and old Nantucket charm. The staff is exceptionally helpful and very nice. One of the greatest features is Chancellors, the restaurant. They have absolutely delicious gourmet dinners, as well as a lovely breakfast buffet...they always seem to have the freshest fruit!...and you can enjoy your breakfast on the huge wrap around... more
Its a step back in time. Its bright and cheery. more
the point breeze is a huge disappointment. it is run down and devoid of amenities or any charm. the bathrooms are not as nice as a motel-6. the staff is less than helpful. the room rates are exorbidant for the quality of the property. it's only redeeming qualities are decent food and a good location. more
